Much better than the cattle car conditions at the Annex the night before the Horrors lived up to the hype with a fun performance. The band combines a goth look & dark lyrics with propulsive punk rhythms.

11.03 CMJ Day 5, MSTRKRFT w/ DJ Ayers @ Fader Side Show
Anything Death from Above 1979 related is cool with me (their song “Little Girl” from the You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine album… Classic) so I hung around for MSTRKFTs bumping DJ set. DJ Ayers from South Brooklyn’s Ace DJ crew The Rub joined them behind the tables for a few spins.

I think I meantioned in my last review this band is Hot to Death! Ass shaking grooves and entertaining performances. Highly recommended.

Unsigned Brooklyn Buzz band Tall Hands set off the Sub Pop / Team Claremont day party with another strong set of power pop, “boat-rock” that got the crowd moving.
